I grew up in Sidney, British Columbia. A quiet town. The kind of town that you see in movies or television shows, like Star’s Hollow from Gilmore Girls. My home town’s claim to fame is “Sidney by the Sea” with a bookstore on every corner. It was almost cliche that by the age of 11 I knew that I wanted to be a writer.
It wasn’t until I was 26, and three-quarters of the way done a political science degree that I switched and went for my dream. It was the toughest call I ever made to my mom, telling her that I didn’t want to be a lawyer. I found writing fascinating, especially the ways that new media changed writing a decade ago.
This blog is about the goals that I have set for myself and my journey through school. Updated weekly on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday, it will feature what I’m learning, how I’m learning it and the design projects, both in school and personal that I am working on.
